s.Oliver: Elevating Everyday Fashion E-Commerce
A complete e-commerce redesign for s.Oliver, redefining the digital brand experience through visual systems, interaction design, and content direction to create a more premium, accessible, and lifestyle-driven shopping journey. I've led the complete Art Direction and Visual Design at Machinas Development.
The Problem

The previous s.Oliver e-shop did not reflect the brand’s real value or price point. Visually and structurally, it felt closer to a low-cost clothing marketplace than to a considered fashion destination. The experience lacked a clear visual code, brand narrative, and emotional pull, resulting in a fragmented journey that prioritized volume over desire.
Rather than feeling like a curated shopping experience, the platform resembled a crowded catalog. This disconnect weakened brand perception and failed to align with how customers actually relate to s.Oliver as an everyday, trustworthy lifestyle brand.
The Challenge

The challenge was to elevate the digital experience without alienating s.Oliver’s core audience. The redesign needed to:

- Shift the brand towards a more premium perception while remaining accessible
- Replace a marketplace-driven layout with a curated shopping experience
- Build a clear and consistent digital brand system
- Support storytelling and emotional connection, not just product display
- Respect usability patterns familiar to the primary audience of women 40+
The goal was not reinvention, but refinement. Making the brand feel more desirable, confident, and intentional without losing its warmth or approachability.
